Ganson Engineering is a multi-location / multi-unit resource for multi function printer products. Their focus is manufacturing and transportation. Clients predominantly communicate with the Ganson sales force over the internet, and because of the requirements of their eCommerce business, it’s imperative that all systems are active and stable 24×7, 365 days a year.
Challenges
Ganson Engineering has geographically dispersed personnel, specifically salespeople. In the old system, remote users would have to build excel spreadsheets and other documents on devices out in the field, and then merge that data to desktops at the main office so they could add the information into their database. There were a lot of small steps involved in getting this field data into the system, and Dave was looking for a way to minimize the steps involved. Ganson Engineering also faced issues with server support. Any time a server went down -be it day, night, or on the weekend- Dave would have to spend hours in the server room trying to find out what the problem was so they could get it fixed. Maintenance fees for support and software were also a burden because they weren’t included in their service contract.
Solution
After moving to Mobile Office, Ganson has streamlined their processes of gathering data, and eliminated unnecessary steps involved in compiling that data into their database. Salespeople can now respond instantly with the latest data, and Dave can focus his energy on other important aspects of his business, without worrying about system issues, server maintenance, and service fees.
Conclusion
The Mobile Office platform has given Ganson Engineering a fully managed I.T. solution that is easy to budget for, while also providing them the flexibility to grow exponentially without geographic borders.
